JAI was recently tasked to assist with the development of a comprehensive feasibility evaluation of a three (3) to five (5) mile Personal Rapid Transit system (PRT) for the City of SeaTac and several other stakeholders in Seattle, Washington. As part of our task, JAI performed comprehensive route planning and operational assessment, and examined temporary and permanent impacts to airport operations. JAI further assisted with preliminary guideway and station design and functional integration activities, and performed system ridership, operations and maintenance simulation modeling.

To give SeaTac a better understanding of PRT industry offerings, JAI performed a detailed industry and market review to identify market dynamics and determine overall levels of market capabilities. With our industry and market research in hand, we further developed a comprehensive new technology risk assessment and model which examined overall and specific risks of selecting new technology to all project stakeholders.

JAI supported SeaTac with an evaluation of life cost cycle data and assisted with the identification of additional project funding opportunities. We also assisted SeaTac with public outreach and directly participated in public presentations. We further analyzed localized area land use and identified public/private development opportunities.
