Bellagio Transit System Procurement Management & Design Development
Las Vegas, NV
Mirage Resorts International (now a subsidiary of MGM Grand) set a new benchmark in resort casino development with their famed Bellagio Resort and Casino in Las Vegas (NV). Noting the success of Bellagio could be enhanced through providing an accessible link to major neighboring casino resort properties, Mirage turned to JAI to plan, integrate, provide procurement management, and commission an entirely new 2,600 foot long fixed guideway system serving both Bellagio and Monte Carlo resort casinos.
JAI subsequently performed alignment planning, preliminary engineering, technology assessment, and a life cycle cost evaluation. Follow-on activities included RFP development, contract negotiations, system implementation and integration, construction management oversight, and testing and commissioning. Among several successful and highly unique attributes about this system included a revolutionary belt driven 'pinch drive' propulsion system and the integration of fiber optic communication.
